Assignments Update, Sunday may 3 5/3/20

  • For the month of May staff will only be responded for their scheduled KOE LIVE! lessons.

  • Staff will get paid for 10HRS, staff must apply for recertification via Lousiana Workforce every Sunday to qualifiy for unemployment funds and federal funds.

  • Staff will be notified in advanced via email or text if we have any additional PD’s for the month that must be completed.

  • Follow up with your parents at least once a week to check in with students.

  • Staff received unemployment for the week of March 16th. 

  • Assignment 1: The assignment was emailed/texted on Wednesday, 3/25 evening and due on Sunday, March 29th at 6pm. 

***If you completed partial assignment, you will receive partial credit, not the full 20hrs.****

What assignments will be included on my April 30th check?

April 30th Check (April 1st- April 15th)

  • Assignment 2: The second assignment was emailed/texted on Wednesday, 4/1 afternoon and due on Sunday, April 5th at 6pm. 

  • Assignment 3: The third assignment was emailed/texted Wednesday, 4/8 afternoon and due on Sunday, April 12th at 6pm.

3/25/202o Assignments

Dear Staff,

We know that this has been an uncertain time due to the rapid growth of the COVID-19 virus in our state. As of now KOE will still remain close and monitor the state and local health department releases and make changes as needed; we will continue to update you via email and text.





UPDATE REGARDING EMPLOYMENT

We have secured some funding for the month of April 2020. With this funding staff can earn up to 20hrs per week, at your current pay rate, for the month of April.

What does this mean?

  • Staff can still apply for unemployment, however, it must be stated that staff is NOT laid off but receiving “reduced hours” due to COVID-19. We have made this correction for the staff who completed their unemployment claim prior to today, 3/25/20.

  • Staff must complete assignments, professional development, and/or TSG, ON TIME, to receive up to 20 hours of pay each week.

  • Staff must email individual certificates, ON TIME, to precious@kidsofexcellence.com to receive credit for online professional development training.

  • The staff understands that there are NO EXCEPTIONS FOR LATE assignments.

  • Each teacher must text Precious (504-256-2410) that they have recieved, read, and understand the policy for receiving reduced hour payments.

Pay period reminder: Staff pay periods will remain the same.

3/25/2020 Assignments

  1. Teacher Strategies Gold Interrater Reliability Certification. Teachers with students who have IFSP/IEP (Rm 109, 112, 114, 117 A , Rm 1, and Rm 3) must complete 2 certifications: the disability certification as well as the standard certification. Instructions below.

  2. March 1st- March 13th TSG observations, 3 observations per student.

  3. Teacher Time: The Responsive Environment professional development training via Head Start | Early Childhood Learning Center Individualized Professional Development Portfolio (iPD). The iPD Portfolio is an online platform created to support ongoing professional development for staff in Head Start and child care settings. It contains accessible, self-paced professional development modules. Instructions below.
